Front room now


Having removed the chimney above, replaced the brick wall above here with a braced partition, bricked in the inglenook side windows, and replastered the room, we eventually found this fireplace, dating from 1845, which is not too much younger than the house. Then in late 2001 I laid this wooden floor, having levelled the floor: there was quite a hill across the middle where the original separating wall had been.
