Bathroom


This large room (11ft x 12 ft) contained a 6ft cast iron bath and a cracked basin - not even a toilet - and a very large airing cupboard. I don't know what the original function of this room was: in the centre of the picture, I found a bricked-up fireplace, and a very large slab of stone set into the floor as a hearth. A bedroom, perhaps, since indoor plumbing was unheard of in 1828?
