Cellar steps

These steps were slabs of slate, dangerously worn, and had no noses to them which made them rather uncomfortable to use since the step size was rather small. Note the central heating pipes, lagged with asbestos, which meant one had to duck to enter cellar rooms. All the cellar ceilings showed evidence of having once been lath & plastered.
